A photographic gallery of the reptiles, amphibians of Michigan dedicated to increasing the appreciation, awareness and public perception of these often misunderstood animals.

 

 

Although Michigan may not be as herpetologically diverse as Ohio, it harbors some fascinating reptiles and amphibians.  The focus of these pages will be these animals, many of which exist at the northern most reaches of their range.  This will be a bit more of a work in progress, and I will work to add to the site when I am able to find some time to explore the many natural areas of Michigan.  Although I am not against collecting, it is not my goal to encourage irresponsible collection of these species. Some of these animals are under extreme amounts of pressure due to habitat loss and may be more sensitive to human disturbance.  Please tread carefully.
