Although Michigan may not be the most herpetologically diverse, it harbors some fascinating reptiles and amphibians. Wolverine Herps focuses on these unique animals. Some of them cling on at the northern most reaches of their range, while others such as the Massasauga Rattlesnake and Wood Turtle, exist in one of their last remaining strongholds. Be aware these animals are under extreme amounts of pressure due to habitat loss and may be more sensitive to human disturbance.  Enjoy the Wolverine Herps, but please tread carefully.

Spring Cruising

After wrapping up the Everglades Paddle trip, I flew from Fort Myers, Florida over to San Diego, California for a work conference.  I was there a few days and had a great time enjoying the conference, the weather and visiting some friends from college and my residency.  Of course, some hiking was accomplished when I was free! I haven't been able to post much lately due to a variety of reasons.  On of the biggest reasons has been our unseasonably warm weather and the need to spend time in the field.  Today is actually more indicative of "spring", as it is cool in the low 60s and cloudy.  Really not bad for March.  I am going to try and get some stuff up soon, but here is a quick teaser...
